Jambo! I'm Naeem, born in Nairobi, Kenya and imported to Toronto. I completed my undergrad gaining a BIT from UOIT in Game Development and Entrepreneurship. I recently defended my thesis competing a M.Sc at UOIT where my focus is on Human Computer Interaction (HCI) and Games User Research (GUR). My research focuses on applying GUR methods and techniques specifically for indie and small game development teams.
I've always been a fan of game design and in 2014 I was lucky enough to get an internship at Ubisoft's Academia Game Lab competition working as a game designer with a team of 25 other students. I really pushed the team to user test our game Book Brawl and I ran playtests where my secondary role was user researcher. Book Brawl is now on Steam Greenlight if you want to check out our page to learn more about this awesome game!
My most recent professional experience was at Ubisoft Toronto's playtest lab as a User Research Moderator. I also assist Execution Labs in Montréal whenever they have a game in need of evaluating.
I really like traveling and exploring new places doing activities such as sky and cliff diving. I recently got into SCUBA diving and I am continuing my exploration of our beautiful underwater flora and fauna.
